In Lviv, near the local Town Hall, the Naval Flag of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was raised on the 29th of April. This was done to mark the 108th anniversary of the first time Ukrainian flags were raised on the ships of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol.
The flag currently flying in the centre of Lviv features a white rectangular field with a blue cross and the national flag in the upper left corner. In 1918, this day became significant for national history, as the 29th of April was proclaimed the Birth of the Ukrainian Fleet Day.
