The Sokal-based team, “Danish Textile,” continues to showcase remarkable progress. Just four years ago, they competed in Ukraine’s second league, but now they excel in the top league, decisively defeating lower-division teams. In their opening match of the Ukrainian Cup, “Danish Textile” convincingly overcame “Olymp” from Borshchiv with a clean 3:0 scoreline. The individual skill level of the Sokal players significantly outmatched that of their opponents.
The highlight of the round was the match between Lutsk’s “Lesya Ukrainka University” and the first-league team “Patriot-Veres-Rivne.” The second-league Lutsk players pulled off an unexpected victory in a five-set match, demonstrating resilience and determination.
While “Danish Textile” boasts a far stronger game potential than the teams from Lutsk and Rivne, the Sokal athletes must approach their upcoming matches on Saturday and Sunday with maximum focus to avoid any surprises.
