The legendary actor Bohdan Stupka once said, “Do your work honestly and with heart, and it will come to you.” This philosophy has been the guiding principle for the volleyball club “Danish Textile” from Sokal for over a decade, led by its president Ihor Triska. Thanks to dedication and effort, the team has risen from local competitions in Sokal district to challenging the leaders of the Ukrainian Superleague.
Group Opponents in the Second Stage
“Danish Textile” will compete in the same group as:
- “Epicenter-Podolyany” (Horodok, Khmelnytskyi region)
- “Podillia” (Khmelnytskyi)
Only the group winner will advance to the final stage of the tournament.
Group Favorites
The favorite team is “Epicenter-Podolyany”, the reigning holder of the Ukrainian Cup and Super Cup, and the current Superleague leader. The club’s president is Oleksandr Hereha, and the head coach is Italian Flavio Gulinelli. The team is sponsored by the “Epicenter” hypermarket chain.
In the 2024/2025 season, “Epicenter-Podolyany” competed in the European Challenge Cup, defeating Estonia’s “Pärnu” in the 1/32 finals but losing to Bulgaria’s “CSKA” in the 1/16 finals. The group matches will be held at the “EpicenterK” sports complex in Horodok.
Challenger from Khmelnytskyi
Another opponent is “Podillia” (Khmelnytskyi), currently ranked sixth in the Superleague. Last season, the team won gold in the Ukrainian First League and returned to the Superleague. Fans may remember this team as “Novator,” with its best achievement being bronze medals in the 2017/2018 Superleague season.
A Volleyball Spectacle Awaits! Sokal’s team now has a unique opportunity to compete against strong opponents and showcase their skills.
