Pre-Easter Traffic at Lviv Border Grows by 20%

Increase in Passenger Traffic at Lviv Border Ahead of Easter

The pre-Easter period sees a traditional increase in activity at the state border: passenger traffic in Lviv region has grown by 20% compared to usual levels.

Traffic Intensity at Checkpoints

The highest traffic was recorded at the following checkpoints:

  • “Shehyni”
  • “Krakivets”
  • “Rava-Ruska”

Less congestion is observed at the “Nyzhankovychi”, “Smilnytsia”, “Hrushiv”, and “Uhryniv” checkpoints, which remain good alternatives to avoid queues.

Border Crossing Statistics

Since the beginning of 2025, the border in Lviv region was crossed by over 3 million people and around 700 thousand vehicles both entering and exiting Ukraine. An advantage of entry over exit is currently noted, but the increase in flow affects both directions.

Attention! Repairs in “Shehyni”. Temporary restrictions are in place at the “Shehyni” checkpoint due to repair and reconstruction works. Traffic jams are possible. Please plan your route in advance and choose the least congested nearby checkpoints.

Advice for Travelers

  • Track vehicle accumulation on official resources: 7th Border Carpathian Detachment and Western Regional Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine-Western Border.
  • Choose less congested checkpoints.
  • Consider the work of all control services at the checkpoint, including the services of the adjacent side.

Border guards of the 7th Border Carpathian Detachment are utilizing all available resources to ensure prompt processing of individuals, vehicles, and goods. Our focus is on rhythm, safety, and comfort of citizens. The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine is implementing innovations, expanding international cooperation, and working daily to make border crossing easier and more convenient – especially during the holiday period.
