The number of incoming calls has significantly increased due to a heightened need of the population to contact law enforcement agencies. Operators of the ‘102’ service receive and process messages in a continuous mode, which requires increased concentration and promptness in handling messages.
‘We urge citizens to note that the hotline is intended solely for receiving messages within the competence of the National Police,’ states the department. Operators do not provide consultations or explanations on issues beyond the police’s jurisdiction. Citizens are asked to refrain from making inquiries unrelated to the activities of law enforcement agencies to ensure timely response to reports of offenses and emergencies.
