Lviv under Class 4 fire danger on April 18: Authorities urge residents not to burn dry grass

On April 18, the Lviv Regional Hydrometeorological Center has issued a Class 4 fire danger warning for the city, indicating a high risk of fire outbreaks.

The Lviv City Council is urging residents to take the weather forecast seriously and strictly follow fire safety regulations.

The Department of Civil Protection and Territorial Defense reminds:
Burning dry vegetation is strictly prohibited under Ukrainian law, and violators may face administrative or even criminal liability.

💸 Fines for burning dry grass:

  • UAH 3,060 to 6,120 — for individuals;

  • UAH 15,300 to 21,420 — for officials;

  • UAH 6,120 to 12,240 — if the offense occurs in a nature reserve.
    During wartime, such actions may be considered sabotage, which can lead to criminal prosecution.

The city authorities ask residents to remain alert and report any grass burning or arson immediately to emergency services:

  • 101 — State Emergency Service (SES);

  • 102 — Police.

Irresponsible burning of vegetation poses a serious threat not only to the environment but also to human life and property — especially near homes, forests, nature reserves, and roadways.
