A new laboratory, GeoEcoHUB, has been opened in Lviv as a platform for geographical and ecological research. It commenced its activities on 15th April at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

This space is designed for school youth to enhance students’ geographical and ecological education, develop their research skills, and engage them in studying environmental issues. The laboratory can accommodate 20 students and combines theoretical education with practical research.

Over 990 thousand hryvnias were allocated for the project from the regional budget and the university. The opening was attended by officials such as the head of the Lviv Regional Council’s Department, Yaroslav Hasiyak, the head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, and the deputy head of the permanent commission on education, Paraskoviya Dvoryanin.

Yaroslav Hasiyak emphasised that this is an example of effective cooperation, which allows students to practically explore the environment and develop ecological awareness. In the laboratory, students will work with modern equipment, study the state of air, water, and soil, and create their own scientific projects.
