Lviv Develops Cultural Space in Former Main Post Office

Lviv has been utilizing the premises of the former main post office for cultural development for half a year now.

The premises at 1 Y. Slovatsky Street, owned by JSC ‘Ukrposhta’, are rented by the municipal institution ‘Cultural Foundation of the Lviv Territorial Community’. The contract is signed for five years — until 2030. The space is actively used for cultural events. ‘Participants of the Culture Congress listen to speakers in this space’, organizers note.

It concerns 3,000 square meters that are a cultural heritage monument and not subject to privatization. The city pays the rent and covers utility expenses. During this time, numerous events, including the IV Culture Congress, have already taken place here.

The team led by the authorized person for cultural matters, Natalia Bunda, is completing the concept of the continuous functioning of the space as a modern institution. The regional authorities plan to initiate the transfer of these premises under their management. The city is convinced: decisions should be made taking into account the community’s interests.
