A meeting of the working group at the Lviv Regional State Administration took place in the Lviv region, where the implementation of the national memory strategy was discussed. Participants focused on updating the calendar of commemorative dates, approaches to honouring figures and events in communities, as well as the installation of informational plaques.
“It is important to establish clear principles for forming the calendar: the priority is events and figures of national significance, while it is also necessary to maintain balance and consider the regional context,” stated Sviatoslav Sheremeta, a deputy of the Lviv Regional Council.
“This is another step towards the systematic organisation of the historical space of the region. It is important that community residents have access to verified information about the events and figures that shape our national memory,” added Zakhar Milyanyk, a deputy of the Lviv Regional Council.
The creation of a historical portal for the Lviv region with an interactive map was also discussed.
