In Lviv region, an increased level of fire danger is expected at the beginning of July. According to the Lviv Regional Centre, on 1 July an extreme (5th class) fire danger is forecast across the entire territory of the region, and on 2–3 July — in places.
Rescuers remind the public of the need to strictly observe fire safety rules to prevent fires in forests and open areas.
In particular, residents and visitors to the region are asked to:
- refrain from lighting campfires in unauthorised places and from leaving any fire unattended;
- thoroughly extinguish campfires with water or cover them with soil before leaving;
- not to throw cigarette ends or matches on the ground, especially in dry weather;
- not to burn dry vegetation.
The appeal stresses the importance of protecting nature, the work of rescuers, and one's own life.
