In the territory of Lviv Region, rescuers recorded 10 incidents of grass fires in the past day. The fire destroyed almost half a hectare of dry stubble, where there should have been green grass.
Rescuers warn that burning dry grass does not benefit the soil — this is a common myth that harms the environment, particularly insects, animals, and people.
Rescuers emphasise the seriousness of the situation: even a small fire can turn into a wall of flames under windy conditions, threatening forests and residential buildings. It is also important to remember about fines: the minimum penalty for burning dry stubble for citizens is 3,060 UAH.
