In Lviv region, 14 wildfires extinguished in a day

In the Lviv region, over the course of a day, rescuers extinguished 14 fires in natural ecosystems covering a total area of more than 3 hectares, the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Lviv region reported.

Of the total number of fires, 13 involved dry grass, and one more fire broke out in forest litter.

The State Emergency Service emphasises that burning dry vegetation is dangerous and prohibited by law. Such actions carry administrative liability: fines for citizens range from 3,060 to 6,120 hryvnias, and for officials from 15,300 to 21,420 hryvnias.

Rescuers warn that uncontrolled burning of dry vegetation can quickly spread to residential buildings, outbuildings, forests and other areas, posing a threat to the life and health of people and animals.

The State Emergency Service urges people not to burn dry grass, not to throw cigarette ends into grass, and to act responsibly. In the event of a fire, you must immediately call the Rescue Service 101.
