In a forest near the village of Ruda in Stryi district, a 152 mm artillery shell dating back to the Second World War was discovered while people were gathering mushrooms. The dangerous item was destroyed in the prescribed manner by sappers from the Lviv Mobile Rescue Centre for Rapid Response of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The incident occurred on the evening of 13 September. Rescuers stress that if you discover objects resembling munitions, you must not touch or move them; you should retreat to a safe distance and immediately report the find by calling 101 or 102.
The State Emergency Service emphasises that only specially trained experts are authorised to safely remove and neutralise explosive devices.
