79-year-old passenger injured on Kyiv–Chop motorway in Lviv district

On the Kyiv–Chop motorway near the village of Pasiky-Zubrytski in Lviv district, a road traffic collision occurred in which a 79-year-old car passenger was injured. The incident took place on 11 June at around 07:40.

According to preliminary police information, there was a collision between a Scania driven by a 38-year-old Lviv resident and a Citroen Berlingo driven by a 59-year-old resident of Lviv.

As a result of the crash, the passenger of the Citroen Berlingo, a 79-year-old woman from Lviv district, sustained bodily injuries. She was taken to hospital.

Investigators from Police Station No. 3 of Lviv District Police Department No. 2 have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of road safety regulations. The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with disqualification from driving vehicles for up to three years.

Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
