In the Lviv region, rescuers extinguished 45 grass fires within a day. The main causes of such fires are irresponsible behaviour and deliberate arson. People, without thinking, set fire to dry grass, resulting in flames spreading over large areas and destroying all living things in their path, as reported by Lviv State Emergency Service.
Each such incident is not only harmful to the environment but also poses a real threat to people’s lives and property. The fire spreads quickly across open areas, especially in windy weather, and can leap to residential buildings, farm structures, or forested areas.
Emergency services repeatedly emphasise: burning dry grass is not cleaning up, but a dangerous violation of fire safety rules. Such actions destroy ecosystems, damage soils, and can lead to large-scale fires.
Rescuers urge residents of the region to be conscious, not to provoke fires, and to adhere to fire safety rules. Let us remember: responsible behaviour towards nature begins with simple decisions — do not burn, but preserve.
