In the village of Rudnyky in the Stryi district, an Opel Kadett car caught fire during repair work. This was reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Lviv region.
The incident occurred on 23 May at 20:51. The Rescue Service “101” received a report of a car fire in the yard of a private household.
Firefighters from the town of Mykolaiv and the voluntary fire brigade of the village of Rudnyky were dispatched to the scene. By the time the firefighters arrived, the car was already completely engulfed in flames.
According to preliminary information, the fire broke out during repair work. Attempts to extinguish the fire independently were unsuccessful, and it spread rapidly. As the car was parked next to a residential building and another vehicle, people dragged the burning car into a nearby field before the firefighters arrived, in order to prevent the fire from spreading.
The fire was contained at 21:16 and fully extinguished at 21:33. No one was injured in the incident. Specialists are establishing the causes and circumstances of the fire.
