In the village of Hrabovets in Stryi district, a Second World War artillery shell was discovered during earthworks.
It was reported that on 6 October at 14:20 the Rescue Service “101” received a report about the discovery of an explosive device within the territory of the village of Hrabovets, Stryi district. During excavation works, a 76 mm artillery shell was found.
The next day, 7 October at 12:30, explosives experts from the Interregional Rapid Response Centre of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine removed the shell and destroyed it in the prescribed manner.
Rescuers remind the public that if any suspicious objects resembling munitions are found, they must not be touched, moved or tampered with. You should move away to a safe distance and immediately report the discovery by calling 101 or 102.
