A road traffic accident occurred in Sheptytskyi, resulting in the death of a cyclist. The incident took place on 3rd May at approximately 14:00 on Sokalska Street in the district centre.
Preliminary findings indicate that the driver of a Mercedes-Benz Vito minivan, a 42-year-old resident of the Sheptytskyi district, hit the cyclist — a 64-year-old local resident. Despite doctors’ efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
In response to this incident, investigators from the transport crime division have initiated a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road traffic safety rules). The police are determining the circumstances of the event.
