On the evening of December 21, a traffic accident occurred in the town of Sokal, Lviv region, resulting in injuries to a scooter rider. The crash happened at around 8:00 PM on Danyla Halytskoho Street.
According to preliminary police reports, a Citroen C4 driven by a 19-year-old local resident collided with a Fada scooter operated by a 54-year-old man from one of the villages in the Sheptytskyi district.
As a result of the collision, the scooter driver sustained various injuries and was hospitalized.
Investigators from Police Department No. 2 of the Sheptytskyi District Police have launched a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of traffic safety rules, which led to bodily injuries. The article provides for a penalty of up to three years of restricted freedom and a driving ban for the same period.
Police are currently working to determine the full circumstances of the accident.
