At the Shehyni checkpoint, border guards along with customs officers stopped an attempt to illegally export jewelry from Ukraine.
During the inspection of a passenger bus, nearly 250 pieces of jewelry were discovered in a structural cavity, specifically in the rear stair panel. Packed in plastic bags, the items included a wide assortment: chains, rings, bracelets, pendants, crosses, and other metal ornaments.
According to the driver, the package was handed to him in Lviv with a request to deliver it to Germany.
The estimated value of the discovered goods is 300,000 hryvnias. All the jewelry has been confiscated, and customs officers have filed a report on the violation.
