A meeting of the Ukrainian-Polish intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation took place in Lviv.
The Ukrainian delegation was headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk. The Polish delegation was headed by Minister of Economic Development and Technology Krzysztof Hetman, the press service of the Ministry of Reintegration reports.
As noted, the participants discussed cooperation in the areas of trade and investment, energy, environmental protection, agriculture, transport and infrastructure, the credit sector and customs, defense industry, veterans’ policy, etc.
They also reviewed the status and conditions of the Brody-Adamovo oil pipeline project and confirmed the strategic importance of the project for strengthening the energy security of Ukraine and Poland, as well as other countries in the region.
The meeting also resulted in an agreement to modernize the Shehyni checkpoint.
In turn, Vereshchuk expressed hope that the Commission would become one of the platforms for intensifying cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Poland.
In addition, within the framework of the ninth meeting of the Ukrainian-Polish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, a meeting was held between the Ministers of Agriculture of Ukraine and Poland Mykola Solsky and Czeslaw Sekerski.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to hold joint interministerial talks in late March with representatives of specialized agricultural associations.
Solsky emphasized that this format of work would help establish constructive relations between Ukrainian and Polish farmers.
