In Sokal, following a competitive selection process, LLC “IZI SOFT”, which is part of the EasyPay Group fintech group, has been chosen as the operator of the automated public transport fare collection system.
The system will be introduced without using any funds from the local budget: all necessary investment in equipment and technology will be covered by EasyPay UA.
Over the coming months, validators are to be installed and configured on Sokal's public transport, payment tools connected, and the new system tested. Once fully launched, passengers will be able to pay their fares by bank card, Resident Card, as well as via smartphone using Apple Pay, Google Pay or a digital Resident Card.
The automated system will enable the community to transparently account for the number of trips, passenger flows and concessionary journeys, and to use this data for more effective management of the transport network.
The launch of the electronic ticket will be the first practical step in implementing the memorandum between the Sokal community and EasyPay Group on developing the Smart City concept. In future, the range of digital services for residents is expected to be expanded and integrated into a single city digital ecosystem.
