Serhiy Petchenko, a war veteran who lost both of his arms in combat, is planning to open an impressive coffee shop in the heart of Lviv.
In an interview with Army FM, Serhiy spoke about his military career, family relationships and plans for the future of his business.
Serhiy joined the ATO in 2015 and served with the 28th Separate Mechanised Brigade. He took part in combat operations near Maryinka. After being seriously injured, he was demobilised, but with the outbreak of full-scale war in 2022, he returned to the army in March.
Serhiy draws his greatest inspiration from his family – his wife and son, who constantly support him in his quest to achieve new goals. The veteran emphasises the importance of not stopping and pursuing your dreams despite all the difficulties.
The decision to open a coffee shop stems from Serhii and his wife’s love of coffee. They became passionate about this drink after visiting Lviv, where coffee made a special impression on them. This prompted them to create a cosy place where visitors can enjoy coffee, breakfast and desserts.
In addition, Sergiy noted that thanks to a programme to support veteran businesses in Lviv, he was able to receive a grant of UAH 300,000. These funds were allocated on a competitive basis. In addition, he won another UAH 250,000 in a business competition, which he plans to use to renovate the coffee shop.
The coffee shop is expected to open in early October at 26 Staroyevreiska Street.
