Bus services through the Shehyni–Medyka border crossing will not be restricted in summer – Ukraine and Poland have agreed to postpone the previously announced changes.
The Polish side had announced a decision to temporarily suspend the processing of buses entering Poland via Medyka–Shehyni from 15 June 2026 for a year and a half due to large-scale repair works.
Given the importance of this route for passengers and international carriers, the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine initiated consultations with the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Poland, with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Poland.
As a result of the talks, it was agreed that bus processing at the Shehyni–Medyka border crossing will be maintained for the summer season, despite the repair works.
Further stages in the implementation of the reconstruction project and any possible changes to traffic arrangements at this border crossing will be announced separately.
