Educators in Lviv have raised UAH 7.5 million to set up pain treatment centres for war trauma at the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Centre.
The educational community of the Lviv community transferred one day’s salary to the “Heroes without Pain” collection from the UNBROKEN charitable foundation.
“I am very proud of our close-knit educational community, which is happy to support such initiatives. Last year, we joined together to raise funds for prostheses for defenders, and this year – for pain treatment centres. These are very important projects that save lives of people defending our country, so we are glad to be able to help them in this way. I thank all the teachers for supporting the collection, it is an honour to work with you,” said Andriy Zakalyuk, Head of the Education Department of the Lviv City Council.
The goal of the Heroes Without Pain project is to raise UAH 67 million to establish Pain Treatment Centres in three hospitals of the UNBROKEN ecosystem in Lviv (St Panteleimon, St Mykola and St Luke’s hospitals). The funds will be used to renovate the premises and purchase medical equipment for pain management procedures. This will enable the doctors to treat up to 200 patients a day.
