A minibus driver was killed in a collision with a truck in Lviv region – police are establishing the circumstances
This was reported by the Lviv regional police.
The accident occurred on 23 October, at around 16.40, on the Lviv-Lutsk motorway near the village of Hayok, Lviv district.
Law enforcement officers have preliminarily established that a DAF truck driven by a 23-year-old resident of Rivne region collided with an Opel Movano minibus driven by a 56-year-old resident of a village in Sheptytsky district.
The driver of the minibus died at the scene as a result of the accident.
Investigators of the Transport Crimes Investigation Department of the Lviv Region Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of the Road Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.

As the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Lviv Oblast later reported, rescuers unblocked the driver’s body from the car damaged in the accident
On 23 October, at 16:43, rescuers received a report that two cars had collided in the village of Hayok, Lviv district: “An OPEL and a DAF truck. Rescuers from the city of Kamianka-Buzka were sent to the scene.
The fire and rescue department used a hydraulic tool to unblock the deceased driver of the OPEL car, born in 1968, and disconnect the car’s battery.
