With the start of the summer holidays and the activation of the tourist season, the border guards of the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment are recording a significant increase in passenger traffic through the checkpoints in the Lviv region.
Currently, traffic has increased by 25%, and according to forecasts, it may grow to 40% compared to the normal regime. The busiest checkpoints remain ‘Shehyni’ and ‘Krakivets’. Currently, in ‘Shehyni’, over 100 vehicles are waiting to exit Ukraine, and another 30 are waiting to enter. In ‘Krakivets’, about 40 vehicles are queued for exit.
At the ‘Shehyni’ checkpoint, a large-scale infrastructure modernization is underway – old coverings are being dismantled, and new engineering networks are being laid. In connection with this, the movement of passenger and freight vehicles is temporarily restricted, especially on the exit from the country. The works are part of a large project to update the checkpoint. The goal is to make border crossing more comfortable, safer, and faster in the future.
‘Rava-Ruska’, ‘Hrusiv’, ‘Uhryniv’ – have an average level of load. In ‘Uhryniv’, there are currently about 30 vehicles in the queue for exit. ‘Nyzankovychi’ and ‘Smilnytsia’ are the least busy. Recommended for those who want to save time on the road.
In the last day, nearly 45,000 citizens crossed the border in the Lviv region (in both directions); more than 9,000 vehicles (in both directions). Currently, there is a predominance of exiting Ukraine over entering. Operational information on the load of checkpoints can be found on the official Facebook pages: 7th Carpathian Border Detachment and Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine-Western Border.
