I have a big request to think about what compensatory mechanisms we can offer to the victims. It’s one thing when we help residents: rebuild, buy everything. The situation is a bit different here, but people are not to blame,” said the mayor of Lviv.

“Only Caritas lost about 300 tons of cargo, which they literally just received through Poland, including from the Vatican. There are also warm things that they planned to transfer to the east, and food products, and small diesel generators. We need to do an inventory as quickly as possible, so that we understand what it is worth from the perspective of owners and tenants, and roughly understand the scale of losses in financial terms. Of course, we will not be able to cover everything as a city, but somehow we need to find compensatory mechanisms,” said the mayor of Lviv.
