Sad news: Ivan Franko’s great-grandson, Yuriy Yurachkivskyi, has passed away. People whose biography is worth knowing.
After completing postgraduate studies, Yurii worked at the Institute of Gerontology, and later at the Institute of Cybernetics of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. In 2001, he was invited to work in the USA as an outstanding scientist.
In the first half of the 1970s, Yurii Yurachkivskyi stood near the origins of sports bridge in our country. He was the champion and winner of the Cup of Ukraine in bridge, the captain of the national team, for many years he headed the Kyiv Sports Bridge Federation. At one time, he even took second place at the New York Championship in this sport.
