Today, at 07:07, a fire was reported in a two-storey brick residential building on Lesia Ukrainka Street in Drohobych.
When the firefighters arrived, thick smoke was coming out of the building. The complexity of the fire was due to the large area of the fire, as it spread through the wooden structures of the building.
Due to the heavy smoke, the firefighters were wearing special respiratory and visual protection equipment. At 08:12, firefighters localised the fire and eliminated it at 10:01. The fire destroyed the roof over an area of 140 sq m, walls over an area of 470 sq m, a wooden staircase and household items.
A total of 29 rescuers and 6 units of specialised equipment were engaged to extinguish the fire.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. Experts will establish the causes and circumstances of the fire.
