On the days of remembrance, 31 October and 1 November, Lviv will increase the number of public transport services running to the city cemeteries. This is being done to make it easier for residents to reach the burial places of their relatives, the city council’s Department of Urban Mobility and Street Infrastructure has reported.
In particular, trolleybus route No. 31, as well as bus routes No. 8a, 29, 46 and 61, will operate according to weekday timetables, which provide for more frequent services than at weekends.
On tram routes No. 1 and No. 7, the number of low-floor trams will be increased to make boarding and alighting easier for passengers, especially older people.
“On the days of remembrance, the number of people wishing to visit the city cemeteries traditionally increases. Therefore, for Saturday and Sunday we have put in place additional measures so that residents can more conveniently reach the burial places by public transport,” said Oleh Partyka.
The Department of Urban Mobility is asking Lviv residents to take these changes into account when planning their trips to the cemeteries.
