The Lviv community has consistently supported the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to Mayor Andriy Sadovyi, UAH 1.1 billion from the city budget was allocated in 2024 for equipment, technology, and subsidies for the military.
Fund Allocation
- UAH 635 million – for purchasing equipment and technology.
- UAH 465 million – subsidies for military units.
Notable purchases include:
- 11,815 drones of various types.
- 129 vehicles (including cars and special equipment).
- 169 electronic warfare systems (EW).
Community Contribution
Mayor Sadovyi emphasized the community’s role:
“Every drone and every vehicle represents a personal contribution from our residents. This is not from the City Council; it’s from every Lviv citizen. Next year, we aim to allocate at least UAH 1 billion for the Armed Forces.”
Visits to Brigades
The mayor visited five military brigades at the front, including:
- 24th Mechanized Brigade,
- 3rd Assault Brigade,
- 13th National Guard Brigade “Khartia,”
- 125th Territorial Defense Brigade,
- 93rd Mechanized Brigade “Kholodnyi Yar.”
He handed over drones, vehicles, and other equipment to soldiers.
New Fundraising Initiative
Lviv, in partnership with the “Come Back Alive” foundation, launched the “Weapons Bearers” project to raise UAH 200 million for four combat brigades defending the frontline.
Funds will be used to purchase:
- Mortars and grenade launchers,
- Pickup trucks and drones,
- EW systems.
Supported brigades:
- 24th Mechanized Brigade,
- 80th Air Assault Brigade,
- 68th Jaeger Brigade,
- 128th Mountain Assault Brigade.

Support Plans for 2025
The Lviv budget for 2025 already allocates UAH 1 billion for military aid. Despite budget cuts of UAH 2 billion by the Parliament and Cabinet, the city remains committed to supporting the army.
