The heads of the “Lviv Regional Youth Center” and the Platform of Initiatives “Teplitsia” signed the corresponding Memorandum of Cooperation.
The document defines the main directions of partnership for the year 2024 in the project “Expansion of psychological and social support, training in life skills and programs of empowerment for youth through UPSHIFT and strengthening of youth centers in three regions”, which is implemented by the NGO “PI “Greenhouse” with the financial support of the Children’s Fund United Nations (UNICEF). It should be noted that the Teplitsia Platform of Initiatives is an implementing partner of the fund.
By signing the Memorandum, the parties agreed on the following:
🔹support four newly established youth centers in the territory of Lviv region, purchase modern equipment and furniture for their work, renovate the premises of these youth centers, as well as provide them with financial support to ensure sustainable activity;
🔹provide grant support to twelve youth centers that were successfully created in the region as part of last year’s cooperation, thus ensuring their high-quality and effective work with young people;
🔹carry out repair works of sanitary units in eight youth centers;
🔹organize and conduct joint studies, trainings and strategic sessions for teams of local youth centers participating in the project.
As Hanna Avdiants, head of NGO “Platforma Initiativ Teplitsia” noted: “The development of youth infrastructure at this time is extremely important, we simply do not have the moral right to lose young people. The team of the Teplitsia Initiatives Platform is always ready to share its expertise and experience gained while developing a network of youth centers in Donetsk region.”
According to the head of the Lviv Regional Youth Center, Ivan Sapsa: “The signing of the second Memorandum on cooperation and financing by the United Nations Children’s Fund for the second year in a row of the youth infrastructure of the Lviv Region speaks of the fund’s great interest in supporting our youth, of understanding their needs and problems, as well as of great support of the social sphere of the region. After all, the dividends from investing in youth will be hundreds of times greater than the amount of investment, and will greatly benefit our state. Thank you very much to the foundation and NGO “PI “Teplitsia” for this support and trust!”
Separately, we should note that there is a whole network of youth centers in the Lviv region, which includes 28 institutions and institutions, and is one of the largest in Ukraine. The vast majority of these centers were created last year thanks to the support of international organizations.
