
To bring Easter cheer to displaced Ukrainians in Lviv, the City’s Center for Social Support of IDPs, in cooperation with charitable organizations, community groups, and the Church, is hosting a series of festive activities in shelters and modular housing units. These events include Easter basket blessings, shared prayers, baking workshops, children’s crafts, and the distribution of holiday packages.
According to Center Director Volodymyr Holovaty, the aim is to preserve cultural traditions and foster a sense of community:
“Our shelters are like big families. We celebrate Christmas and Easter together, and we pray for our Defenders. These events bring us closer and help us learn from one another.”

Thursday, April 17
A baking workshop will take place in the Sykhiv modular town, led by Igor Heryliv, a culinary instructor from Lviv Vocational College of Hotel and Restaurant Services. Participants will make traditional Easter bread with natural starters and decorate it with French meringue. -
Friday, April 18
Members of the Salesian Congregation of the UGCC will deliver Easter food packages, including paska, eggs, sausage, and other traditional items, to families in the modular town. -
Saturday, April 19
Residents will have their Easter baskets blessed at the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. -
Sunday, April 20
The fourth annual Easter prayer service will be held at 12:00 in the modular town, dedicated to the Ukrainian Defenders. -
Throughout the Week
Children in shelters participate in arts and crafts sessions, including decorating eggs and Easter baskets.

A special Easter breakfast will be held at the Ukrainian Catholic University for 200 people facing hardship. The event includes a prayer, food blessing, and a festive meal. -
April 20 at 09:00
The “Dzherelo” Center and the Corporation of Good Deeds will host an Easter breakfast for homeless individuals at 3A Kyrylivska Street.
In addition, a charity drive is underway in Lviv to collect Easter treats for soldiers undergoing rehabilitation and preparing for prosthetics, organized in collaboration with the Lviv Farmers’ Market.
