Lviv plans to create a unique educational and sports school. The first step was the creation of the Sports School, which was decided today at a session of the city council.
“We are working on a project of an educational and sports school. Together with the Department of Education, we are currently studying which school we can reformat into an educational and sports school.
We have many child athletes who are integrated into the educational process in special sports classes. We want to unite them all into one school. It is planned that the educational process in this school will start a little later so that children have time for morning training sessions. And then another one in the afternoon, that is, after school. Students will also be provided with enhanced sports nutrition.
Of course, the educational process will come first, so it will be an educational and sports school. We will emphasize the intensive study of foreign languages.
We need to implement this idea by the beginning of the next school year, so we will actually have a year to prepare,” said Anton Nikulin, head of the Lviv Department of Sports and Youth Policy.
