An open-ended charity campaign to collect plastic corks from bottles

An open-ended charity campaign to collect plastic corks from bottles, yogurt, pens, creams, medicines, etc. is underway in Lviv.

The collected corks are transferred to a recycling company, and the funds received from their delivery are transferred by the respective company to the account of the Lviv City Charitable Foundation “Sister Delilah” and are fully directed to provide people with pulmonary hypertension with medicines, medical equipment or charitable assistance if they need it.

Today, the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Lviv Regional State Administration together with the State Ecological Inspectorate in Lviv Oblast handed over the collected food plastic corks to the “Sister Dalila” Charitable Foundation to purchase medicines and medical equipment for patients with pulmonary hypertension.

We urge everyone to join the ongoing Cork of Life campaign to support people who need expensive treatment every day.

According to Oksana Viytyk, Acting Director of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Lviv Regional State Administration, recycling plastic corks not only helps reduce the amount of plastic that ends up in landfills, but also provides important financial resources to improve the quality and life expectancy of people with needs.

The “Cork of Life” campaign was launched in 2015 and is a joint project of the Lviv City Charitable Foundation “Sister Delilah”, the NGO “Association of Rare Diseases of Ukraine – Pulmonary Hypertension” and the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Lviv Regional State Administration.

Containers for collecting corks and used batteries are located at 98, Stryiska St., Lviv.
