Three winter months — December 2025 and January and February 2026 — proved a serious test for Lviv’s municipal utility networks. Despite freezing temperatures and power supply disruptions, specialists from LMKP “Lvivvodokanal” managed an extensive volume of both emergency and planned works.
The company’s emergency crews repaired 406 bursts across the city’s water supply networks. Simultaneously, work continued on replacing worn pipework — in total, over 2.8 km of water mains were renewed.
Considerable work was also carried out on the sewerage infrastructure: more than 6 km of pipelines were flushed, 454 blockages were cleared, and 465 sewer manholes were cleaned.
“The winter was a demanding one owing to the frosts and power outages, yet all departments of our company rose to the challenge. Vodokanal is a large mechanism in which specialists from a wide range of professions work every day: engineers, energy specialists, laboratory technicians, dispatchers, and operational crews. It is precisely thanks to the combined efforts of all these departments that the city’s water supply and sewerage system continues to operate reliably.” — LMKP “Lvivvodokanal”
The company emphasised that the stable operation of the water supply and sewerage system was made possible by the coordinated actions of all its divisions under difficult conditions.
