On 1 July, a deterioration in weather conditions is expected across Lviv region. According to the Lviv Regional Centre, thunderstorms are forecast, and during the day localised squalls with wind speeds of 15–20 m/s and hail with a diameter of 6–19 mm are possible.
Residents of the region are urged to exercise caution and follow basic safety rules during severe weather.
- Avoid staying in open areas, near bodies of water, tall trees and power lines.
- Do not shelter under isolated trees during a thunderstorm.
- Where possible, park cars away from trees and large advertising structures.
- Monitor the condition of electrical wiring and, where possible, unplug electrical appliances.
- Drivers should be especially careful due to potentially poor visibility and slippery road surfaces.
- Do not leave children unattended outdoors during severe weather.
In the event of an emergency, call 101.
