A storm warning has been issued in Lviv for 27 July. According to the Lviv Regional Hydrometeorological Centre, the city is expected to see strong winds of 15–20 m/s, with a possible thunderstorm at night. The city council is urging residents to take the forecast into account and exercise caution.
During a thunderstorm, it is advised at home to close windows and doors tightly and unplug all electrical appliances, including your phone, as electronic devices can attract lightning strikes.
Outdoors, you should not shelter under trees because of the risk of lightning strikes and falling branches during strong gusts of wind. It is also advisable to stay away from metal fences, billboards and power line poles, and not to open umbrellas with metal parts, as they can attract electrical discharges.
If dangerous or emergency situations arise, residents are asked to call the city’s Hot Line on 15–80.
