Lviv Regional Hydrometeorological Centre has issued a warning about deteriorating weather conditions in Lviv region. Thunderstorms are expected in parts of the region until the end of 9 July and during the day on 10 July.
Residents are urged to be cautious when outdoors, to follow safety rules and avoid potentially dangerous places.
During a thunderstorm it is recommended to:
- avoid staying in open areas, near bodies of water, tall trees and power lines;
- not shelter under spreading trees and keep away from advertising hoardings, power lines and building roofs;
- where possible, park cars away from trees and advertising structures;
- monitor the condition of electrical wiring and, if possible, unplug electrical appliances from sockets;
- be especially careful when driving due to possible poor visibility and slippery road surfaces;
- not leave children unattended outdoors;
- where possible, stay indoors and keep windows and doors tightly closed.
