Thanks to systematic work, the hospital was able to provide breast milk to more than 120 babies born prematurely.
In the Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital this year, it was possible to establish cooperation with more than 40 female donors and collect more than 400 liters of breast milk.
As reported in the medical facility, given the large supply of milk, there was an opportunity to select what each child needs most. At the same time, when babies are still fed with donor milk, doctors work with mothers to restore lactation. And most children are discharged home already on breast milk, not on formulas.
If you have the opportunity to become a breast milk donor, please contact Oksana Masnyak, director of the Breast Milk Bank of the Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital by phone – 0505453853 (viber).
We would also like to remind you that the breast milk bank in the Lviv Region operates in the Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Center.
For reference:
A breast milk bank is an institution that processes and stores breast milk. A woman who is nursing her own child can share her milk with children who need it. Mothers who have excess milk and have undergone the necessary examinations can become donors.
