The department of nephrology and dialysis has started working in St. Luke’s Hospital

Another modern department was opened in St. Luke’s Hospital (formerly the 8th City Hospital) of the First Medical Association of Lviv. This is the department of nephrology and dialysis. People with chronic kidney disease and conditions that lead to acute and/or chronic kidney failure are helped here. 32 patients can be admitted here per day.

Specialists of the department carry out screening, diagnosis and conservative treatment of kidney diseases. If necessary, methods of renal replacement therapy are involved.

Oleg, a 53-year-old resident of Lviv, became the first patient. He has chronic glomerulonephritis: his kidneys are unable to remove toxins from the body. Instead of non-functioning organs, a hemodialysis machine has been doing it for a year. Previously, Oleg traveled across the city to the St. Panteleimon Hospital (formerly the Emergency Hospital) for procedures. Now the man got the opportunity to undergo hemodialysis near his home in Sykhov.

Appointment and consultation of department doctors by phone: 0800333003.

By the way, earlier, the department of nephrology and dialysis started working in the hospital of Saint Panteleimon. Hemodialysis is a vital procedure that saves a person from intoxication of the body due to kidney failure. This therapy is prescribed by doctors to patients with chronic kidney disease, in which the ability to purify the blood is lost. The procedure should be performed 3-4 times a week.
