At the municipal non-profit enterprise of the Lviv Regional Council “Clinical Centre of Paediatric Medicine”, doctors saved the leg of a 16-year-old boy who had been injured in a road traffic accident.
The teenager was involved in a motorbike crash in Brody. As a result of the accident, he sustained complex multiple fractures of his left leg and a traumatic brain injury. Once his condition had been stabilised, specialists at the Centre carried out a high-tech surgical intervention in two stages.
The facility notes that the injuries were extremely severe, so the surgeons followed modern protocols and treated the soft tissues as carefully as possible to give the boy the best possible chance of recovery.
Thanks to the well-coordinated work of the team of orthopaedic trauma surgeons, the limb was saved. The 16-year-old patient is currently undergoing rehabilitation under the supervision of specialists.
