Volodymyr Soyko: Life, Service, and Heroic Death
“On that day, he already understood that he would be mobilized and did so in the early days of March. He loved life very much and knew how to find joy in every small thing. He was the most caring partner, dreamed of a home of his own, children, and a dog. It’s hard to find a photo where he doesn’t have his eternal smile,” says the civilian partner of our fallen defender Volodymyr Soyko.
Life Path and Military Service
He was born in the village of Grymailivka in the Zolochiv district. He lived in Lviv. He began his warrior path in 2015, voluntarily joining the military law enforcement unit. During the full-scale war, he defended the country as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Later, he served as a mortar commander of the mortar platoon of the fire support company of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after General-Khorunzhyi Marko Bezruchko.
The Last Battle and Commemoration
He was killed on May 7, 2024, during a combat mission near the village of Novooleksandrivka in the Donetsk region. He was 30 years old. The warrior was buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery. The Lviv Regional Military Administration, together with the Memorial Heroes Platform, remembers the fallen defenders from Lviv region.
