The Stryi Community Honors the Memory of Fallen Heroes in May
In May, the Stryi community lost Heroes:
- ANDRIY SYDORENKO ‘Malyuk’ (03.10.1990-02.05.2024). Died while carrying out a combat mission in the area of Stelmakhivka, Luhansk region. Buried in Strelkiv village, Stryi community.
- KOSTYANTYN-YURIY ZAKRUTA ‘Kastet’ (11.04.1998-02.05.2024). Died during a combat mission in the Zaporizhzhia region. Buried in Nezhukhiv, Stryi community.
- ROMAN DREBOT ‘Apollon’ (12.03.1987-05.05.2024). Died during a combat mission in the area of Myasocharivka, Luhansk region. The defender was buried in Dobrivlyany village.
- DMYTRO SUSHCHYK (14.11.1980-6.05.2024). Died while carrying out a combat mission near Semenivka, Donetsk region. The defender was buried in Stryi.
- ROMAN PARASHCHUK (21.09.1983-07.05.2024). Died during a combat mission near Myasocharivka, Luhansk region. The defender was buried on the Avenue of Glory in Stryi.
- MARKO SENIV (11.02.1997-08.05.2024). Died during a combat mission in the area of Myasocharivka, Luhansk region. The defender was buried on the Avenue of Glory in Stryi.
- MARKIYAN PANYLYK (30.10.1982-08.05.2024). Died with a comrade while carrying out a combat mission in the area of Myasocharivka, Luhansk region. The defender was buried on the Avenue of Glory in Stryi.
- YURIY FURT (30.01.1973 — 09.05.2018). Career military, ATO participant. Buried on the Glory Alley of the Stryi Cemetery.
- VASIL VASHCHYSHYN (04.01.1970 – 10.05.2022). Died due to combat clash and massive artillery shelling near Zolote-Orikhove settlement, Luhansk region. Buried in Dashava village.
- ANDRIY HARKOT (15.12.1999-12.05.2024). After a mortar attack, he was considered missing. The defender was identified through DNA samples. The Hero was buried in his native village of Kavsko.
- ROMAN STOROZHUK (25.11.1997-15.05.2023). Sustained a severe injury while carrying out a combat mission. Died at a stabilization medical center in Donetsk region. The defender was buried on the Avenue of Glory in Stryi.
- TARAS KUSEN ‘Bulba’ (27.11.1970-19.05.2023). Died during a combat mission in the city of Bakhmut, Donetsk region. He was considered missing for over a year. The defender was buried on the Avenue of Glory in Stryi.
- VOLODYMYR MYKHAILYUK ‘Udav’ (06.02.1995-19.05.2024). Died during a combat mission near Nevske village, Svatove district, Luhansk region. Buried in Lotatnyky, Stryi community.
- RUSLAN SEMENIN (08.02.1972 – 23.05.2016). ATO participant. Served in the area of Debaltseve, Donetsk region. Suffered severe injuries. Buried in Duliby village.
- IGOR VASYLIV (21.12.1987-24.05.2024). Died from enemy shelling in the area of Vilshana, Kupiansk district, Kharkiv region. Buried in Dobryany, Stryi community.
- STEPAN ILYK ‘Fortuna’ (12.03.1996-25.05.2023). Died while carrying out a combat mission in Luhansk region. The Hero was buried in his native Lany-Sokolivsky.
