
On Wednesday, 22 July, at the Heroes’ Crossroads in Truskavets, a funeral cortege bearing the body of Roman Ferents, who was killed in action while carrying out a combat mission, will be received. The reception is scheduled to begin at 13:30.
After the commemoration ceremony in Truskavets, the cortege will proceed through the town to the village of Popeli in the Boryslav community, where the warrior will be laid to rest the same day. On this day, the Drohobych district will also bid farewell to another fallen defender, Boryslav resident Yaroslav Yarosh.
Residents of the Truskavets community are urged to join the reception of the funeral cortege and accompany the fallen defenders on their final journey, honouring their sacrifice for Ukraine.
Ferents Roman Vyacheslavovych was born on 22 August 1976 in the town of Boryslav. He studied at Secondary School No. 4 and later qualified as an electric and gas welder at Vocational School No. 7.
In April 2024, Roman Ferents voluntarily joined the ranks of Ukraine’s defenders. He served as a rifleman in a specialised unit of a specialised rifle battalion of military unit A4056.
According to available information, Roman Ferents was killed on 11 July 2024 while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Novoselivka Persha in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region.
He is mourned by his mother, sister and daughter. Sincere condolences are extended to his family and friends.
