Ukrainian modern pentathletes Yurii and Maksym Kovalchuk, affiliated with the Lviv State University of Physical Culture named after Ivan Boberskyi, have concluded the 2025 sports season within the top 10 of the UIPM World Ranking in modern pentathlon.
Yurii Kovalchuk, a graduate of the university, secured 4th place in the overall Pentathlon World Ranking. His consistent high-level performance at top international competitions earned him this impressive position.
His younger brother, Maksym Kovalchuk, a first-year student at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of the same university, finished the season ranked 7th in the Pentathlon World Ranking U19 category.
Their strong results in the international standings were achieved thanks to successful appearances at the European and World Championships throughout 2025. These accomplishments highlight both athletes’ dedication and the quality training environment provided by their university in Lviv.
