
Seventeen-year-old Lviv resident Yelyzaveta Voznyuk has won a silver medal at the ICF Canoe Sprint Junior and U23 World Championships in Halifax, Canada.
In the final of the women’s single canoe (C1) 200-metre event, the athlete finished second with a time of 46.78 seconds, just 0.10 seconds behind the winner.
Earlier at these championships, Yelyzaveta had reached the final of the 500-metre event, where she narrowly missed out on the podium and finished fourth.
According to the Lviv Regional Council’s Municipal Institution “Olympic Training Centre”, her success has been shaped by her coaches Roman Bundz and Roman Dmytryshyn, who are also being thanked for preparing the medallist of the world championships.
