Regional cheerleading competitions among school teams took place in Lviv region.
The competitions were held at the ‘Bosco Arena’ on May 12, gathering teams that won in the preliminary stages. ‘This year, there are innovations in organizing school leagues for cheerleading. Teams were divided into two categories: in Group A, students who had previously participated in competitions or practiced cheerleading competed. While in Category B, participants for whom this sport is new were included,’ explains Roman Khimiak, head of the Department of Sports, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
Three teams participated in Category A, and eight teams in Category B. The winners in Category A were: Pulyuy High School (1st place), Davydiv High School named after T. H. Shevchenko (2nd place), Rudkiv High School named after Volodymyr Zherebnyy (3rd place). In Category B, the winners were: Municipal Institution of Solonka Village Council ‘High School named after Hero of Ukraine Mykola Pankiv’ (1st place), Secondary School No. 65 LMR (2nd place), High School No. 1 named after Ivan Franko (3rd place).
The winners of the regional stage will compete at the national-level stage, which will take place in early June in Lviv.
