The Lviv Regional Team emerged as the best at the Ukrainian freestyle wrestling championship for cadets (U15), held in Kolomyia. The Lviv athletes scored 181 points, outpacing their closest competitors by 31 points, as reported by sport.lviv.oda.
Participation in the competition included 562 athletes from 24 teams from all over Ukraine, 51 of whom were from the Lviv region. The Lviv team secured first place overall among the girls’ teams.
Awards for Lviv Regional athletes:
- Gold: Viktoriia Pervachuk (33 kg), Ivanna Maidanska (50 kg), Tereza Tkachyshyn (54 kg), Anastasiia Faizulina (70 kg)
- Silver: Sofiia Vovk (39 kg), Anastasiia Vorobets (62 kg)
- Bronze: Diana Tsiupryk (58 kg), Alevtyna Petrova (62 kg), Yurii Redko (75 kg) — among the boys
The Director of the Department of Sports, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Roman Khimyak, noted that the winners also secured tickets to the European Championship.
